What is Bird Flu?
According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention)
The Bird Flu is an infection caused by avian influenza viruses.
It occurs naturally in wild birds, and is usually carried in their intestines,
but does not usually cause them harm. Once spread to domesticated
animals, it can cause them to become ill and even die.
It is possible for a human to become infected with certain types of bird
flu, and this is where the problem lies, and a pandemic becomes
possible, which would cause widespread illness and death. Scientests
say, that the H5N1 virus, could one day easily spread from one human
to another.
